REASI, Aug 28: The District Youth Services and Sports Department (DYSS) of Reasi conducted a series of Inter-zonal competitions for U19 girls in Kho-Kho, Volleyball, and Kabaddi, along with district-level trials for cricket. The events drew a total of 250 participants from various zones including Arnas, Mahore, Pouni, and Reasi, who showcased their impressive athletic skills.
In addition to the sports competitions, DYSS Reasi organized a Plantation Drive and Cleanliness Drive at General Zorawar Singh Stadium. These initiatives were aimed at supporting the Fit India Campaign and fostering environmental consciousness. The event also served as an opportunity to promote the importance of voting in the upcoming elections through the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative.
Tarsem Singh, District Officer Reasi, informed participants about an upcoming marathon in Srinagar. This event, organized by the Government of J&K UT with support from J&K Tourism and the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Department, will offer athletes a chance to demonstrate their abilities and contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
