UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: Tehsildar Panchari, Vipan Kumar in presence of other officers today inaugurated the three-day historic Sankri Devta Mela amidst beating of drums and full festivity in Village Meer Tehsil Panchari of district Udhampur.
A large number of pilgrims and visitors arrived at Sankri Devta Mela in Tehsil Panchari of Udhampur district on the first day of the mela.
While speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar Panchari congratulated the mela committee for organizing this Mela. He also commended the local students for their participation in various games and cultural programs, wishing them success in their future endeavours. Temporary sweet and toy shops along with other eateries set up by locals and outside vendors was the major attraction for the public visiting the mela site.
Various sports activities were also organized.
