LEH, Sept 2: The Marathon Expo for the Ladakh Marathon 2024 has officially opened, offering a comprehensive preview of the marathon, including race details, athlete information and local attractions. The Expo held at the NDS Sports Stadium is designed to generate excitement and engagement ahead of the marathon. The 11th edition of Ladakh Marathon will take place from September 5 to 8.
During the opening ceremony, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Leh, announced a substantial prize pool of Rs 45 lakh for this year’s marathon. This significant increase in prize money is expected to attract more participants and enhance the prestige of the event.
CEC Gyalson highlighted the special significance of this year’s marathon, noting that it coincides with the 50th Anniversary of tourism in Ladakh. He praised the marathon’s impact on both tourism and sports in the region and expressed gratitude to Padma Shri Chewang Motup Goba, the Founder and Race Director of the Ladakh Marathon for his ongoing dedication and efforts in ensuring the success of the event year after year.
CEC Gyalson also participated personally in the expo by collecting his bib for the 11.2k race, demonstrating his commitment to the event. The Marathon Expo is set to be a vibrant hub for all aspects of the Ladakh Marathon 2024 further building anticipation for what is anticipated to be a landmark event.
