JAMMU, Sept 7: MIER College of Education held its Annual Prize distribution programme, celebrating the achievements of its students in various domains. The event took place at the college campus, with Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Director of the Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu, serving as the chief guest. Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson of MIER, was the guest of honour. Among the attendees were Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal of MIER College; Rupa Gupta, Joint Director; Prof. Mool Raj, Controller of Examinations; Prof. Nishta Rana, Head of the School of Education; and Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with other faculty members, achievers and students.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Adit Gupta, highlighting the significance of recognizing student excellence across academics, co-curricular activities, and research. The College Tarana, performed by the college’s Rag group, set the tone for the celebration.
Awards were distributed in several categories, including Student of the Year, Academic Achievement, Most Regular Student, Budding Researcher, Gender Champions, Best NSS Volunteer, Co Curricular Excellence, and more. These accolades reflected the diverse talents and accomplishments of the students.
Dr. Renu Gupta emphasized MIER’s holistic approach to education, blending academic success with personal growth and societal contributions. Prof. Sharma, in his presidential remarks, commended the students and highlighted MIER’s commitment to modern education through technology, innovation, and comprehensive development. He praised the college’s efforts to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks from Dr Reeta Dwivedi, Convener of the Co-curricular Committee. Dr. Komal Sharma, Convener of the NSS Unit, moderated the event.
