AKHNOOR, July 2: Defeating Kashyap Cricket Club by 7 wickets in an easy contest, Ishar XI entered the quarterfinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, here.
Chasing a modest total of 105 runs set by Kashyap Club, Ishar XI scored the required runs easily in 17 overs by losing 3 wickets and won the match by 7 wickets. Sahil Gupta was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Tushar and Vishwajeet contributed 22 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Aman Singh, Satish and Rohit claimed one wicket apiece.
Earlier, batting first, Kashyap Club scored a meagre total of 105 runs in 16 overs. Punnet top scored with quick-fire 35 runs off just 11 balls with the help of 2 boundaries and four sixes, while Satish and Aman Singh contributed 22 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Sourav was the wrecker-in-chief for Ishar XI, who scalped 4 wickets, while Vishwajeet captured 3 wickets. Deepak Dogra, Varun and Pavit Singh claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali, Rajinder Singh and Srikant, while the tournament is being held under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, organizing secretary.
