UDHAMPUR, Sept 8: The Subash Stadium in Udhampur hosted a notable Cycling Championship organized by the Cycling Association of District Udhampur under the SVEEP programme, guided by District Election Officer Saloni Rai. The event featured races starting from the stadium and traversing the national highway, emphasizing both athletic prowess and voter education.
In conjunction, a lively rally moved through Udhampur’s markets, advocating the importance of voting. The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), led by Romesh Chander Mishra, supported the initiative, urging participants to promote electoral awareness. About 68 participants joined in the race and rally, with cyclists showcasing stunts. DYSS officials and local leaders reinforced the significance of voter engagement.
