JAMMU, Apr 17: Abhishek Memorial Annual Sports Meet organized by the Jamwal Group of Institutions concluded at YCET Sports ground, here today.
Earlier, the Meet was declared open by the chief guest, Pervaiz Ahmed Malik, Secretary Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports in the presence of the special guest Prof. Desh Bandhu Gupta-Director, Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu and other dignitaries.
ErVidhi S.Singh, Chairman, Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions was present on the occasion.
The Meet witnessed 10 different sports events in cricket, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, kho-kho, tug of war, rangoli, carom, chess and athletics.
In cricket, IMS scored 64 runs in 10 over’s, which was chased by NP in 6 overs by losing 2 wickets. Atul Sharma scored quick 25 runs in just 15 balls for the winners.
In 200 meters for girls, Komal from IECS and Priya Sharma from YCET claimed the first and second position respectively.
In 200 meters boys, Gagandeep Singh Jamwal from IMS and Rajinder from IECS claimed the first two positions.
In 100 meter sprint for girls, Kanika Gupta from NP and Monika Pandita from IMS claimed the first two positions, while in 100 meter sprint for boys, Rajinder from IECS and Ashish from IECS claimed the first two positions.
In girls kho-kho, the first prize went to IECS by defeating YCET, while in boys kho-kho IECS and NP were declared joint winners.
In chess, the first prize was bagged by Vishesh of YCET defeating Arjun Magotra of YCET, while in girls singles badminton match, Heteshi Khosa of North Polytechnic thrashed Shilpa Kapoor of IMS, while in single boys badminton match, Aditya of YCET lost to Puneet Sharma of IMS.
In carrom, the first prize went to Anwar Hussain of IECS beating Sunil Kumar Bhat of NCE, while in kabaddi IECS defeated IMS and in tug of war for boys NP pulled the first prize defeating YCET. In volleyball match, IMS thrashed NP, while in Rangoli, Ekta Rani and Ambika Sambyal from IMS, Komal Sharma and Akriti Sharma from IECS and Mukesh and Manisha from NP bagged first three positions.
The architects of this Sports Meet were Er Rajnish Mangotra and Er Dinesh Gupta, assisted by Vikas Khajuria.
