Adarsh College of Education organizes debate, releases Newsletter

SAMBA, Apr 19: Adarsh College of Education, Tagore Bridge, Samba, an NAAC Accredited Institute, organized an inter-college debate competition on the topic ‘Why Govt teachers send their children to private schools, why not in their own schools’in the premises of the College, here today.
College Newsletter ‘Adarsh Bulletin Vol-II’ was also released on the occasion.
Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, Director, College Development Council, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Mohd Yousuf Malik, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) presided over the function. Israr Khan, retired DIG, J&K Police and Neeraj Sharma, OSD College Development Council were the guests of honour. P B Kapoor, Managing Director, Adarsh Educational Trust, Rahul Kapoor, Ritesh Kapoor, Gayika Kapoor and Rashim Anand were also present on the occasion.
The event was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the traditional lamp.
Earlier, AK Kapoor presented welcome address and highted the achievements of the College.
College Newsletter ‘Adarsh Bulletin Vol-II’ was also released on the occasion by the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
Zeenat Khan of Khalsa College of Education was adjudged first in the debate competition, while Mamta Vohra of Adarsh College of Education and Simranmeet Kaur of the same College were declared second and third respectively. Baljit Singh of New Modern College of Education got consolation prize.
Sapna Sangra, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, G Q Sheikh, Prof in Education and Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Academic Officer, J&K State Board of School Education were the adjudicators of the debate.
Later-on, Prof Desh Bandhu distributed prizes and certificates among the winners and the participants.
Poonam Chib, Pricipal of the College presented vote of thanks.
