Reasi, Sept 21 : General Observers Avi Prasad and Saroj Kumar Sethi and Police Observer Pradeep Kumar Yadav, along with District Election Officer (DEO) Vishesh Mahajan & SSP, Reasi Gaurav Sikarwar, on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting with senior officers of the paramilitary, police & district administration to review Standard Operating Procedures to be followed and security measures taken for the upcoming Assembly elections.
During the meeting , DEO Vishesh Mahajan gave a brief overview about current security environment, law enforcement readiness, monitoring structure and election preparedness in anticipation of the Assembly elections. He emphasised that “Security before elections isn’t just a protocol, it’s our promise to democracy”. He also highlighted that no uniform man should enter the voting room unless & until required and also informed that strict monitoring through CCTVs will be there.
Police Observer Pradeep Yadav highlighted that SOPs should be followed at any cost and good security environment should be ensured. General Observer Avi Prasad emphasised on professional conduct and alternate plans. General Observer Saroj Sethi emphasised on important message of fair, free, peaceful and transparent elections.
They all emphasised on proper and decent conduct of all during the duties.
SSP Reasi Gaurav Sikarwar gave a detailed plan of security parties deployed at various locations.The DEO stressed the importance of robust security arrangements on key roads connecting remote areas of district ensuring high-level checking with minimal inconvenience to commuters.
Senior officials from paramilitary forces provided an overview of their action plans for the upcoming elections and coordinated strategies for maintaining law and order.
