VIJAYPUR, Sept 22: Apni Party’s contesting candidate from Vijaypur Assembly constituency and former Minister Manjit Singh today stated that the BJP has failed to divert attention of the people from local issues to divisive agenda.
Addressing a public rally, Manjit said, “The BJP has tried its best in the ongoing election campaign in Vijaypur to create certain kind of division of votes on a set agenda that is against the secular fabric of the country, especially Vijaypur and Samba.”
“The people are not ready to forget the suffering of ten years, they faced in Jammu and Kashmir in the absence of an elected Government, at the hands handful of bureaucracy,” he said.
“The bureaucracy worked as East India Company and took decisions against the public interest unilaterally. The houses were dismantled, people were disposed from the property and land belong to the poor families was taken away making large numbers of people homeless. It was the period of inhuman approach that was adopted by the babus in J&K, especially in Samba, Kathua and Jammu,” Manjit said and cautioned the people from again falling into the trap of BJP that would leave them helpless for next five years without jobs and development.
“Our youth have become unemployed in last 10 years, and many families have been apparently facing starvation like situation. Hence, the time has come that the people should choose a right person as their representative from Vijaypur Assembly constituency by casting their vote in favour of Apni Party candidate,” he added.
