Police solve motorcycle theft case in 3 days

JAMMU, Sept 23: Police in Jammu’s Rehari area claimed to have solved a motorcycle theft case within 3 days of the crime, recovering the stolen property and arresting two persons.
A police official said that the incident occurred on September 19, when Pritam Sharma, a resident of Tallab Tillo, lodged a written complaint regarding the theft of his Bullet motorcycle (JK14E-7704) from Rehari Chungi, Jammu.
Following the complaint, he said, a case FIR number 112/2024 was registered under section 303 (2) BNS at Pacca Danga Police Station, and an investigation was promptly initiated.
Later, he said, a special team led by SHO Pacca Danga Police Station, assisted by Incharge Police Post Rehari, was formed under the supervision of SDPO City North Jammu.
During investigation, the police team apprehended two suspects, Dheeraj Singh alias Kaka of Upper Gummat and Happy Kumar alias Pappi of Chatha, Satwari, he said.
Upon interrogation, the duo disclosed the location of the stolen motorcycle, which was subsequently recovered and seized, he said, adding that further investigation into the case is underway.
