JAMMU, Sept 25: BJP Pradesh vice president and former Minister, Surjeet Singh Slathia today said the ongoing Assembly elections will prove waterloo for the Congress, not only because of its continued attempts to weaken the integral character of Jammu and Kashmir with rest of the country by joining forces advocating reinstatement of Article 370 but also for belittling Maharaja Bahadur Hari Singhji , whose Golden era and benevolence remains inspiration for the people of Jammu.
During his whirlwind campaigning at village Randwal, Rattanpur Sarara, Solha, Nichla, Patyari, Chann Matloni, Sandwari and Pandit Mohalla Ghagwal in Samba, Slathia referred to the boasting of disempowering the Maharaja by Rahul Gandhi in one of his election rallies here recently, asking what he has to say about the imposition of dynastic cult here and elsewhere in the country for the past over seven and half decades.
Slathia, who is the BJP candidate for the Samba Assembly constituency, also lashed out at the Gandhi scion for defaming India across the world and conspiring to break the nation by igniting caste passions.
“Congress has always divided the nation on religion and caste lines but they can’t anymore jump the redline to destabilize the nation by traversing to J&K under the umbrella of elements inimical to single entity of India, who are openly garnering support from Pakistan “, Slathia said while castigating the Congress for comforting itself in the cradle of the combined gang of India bashers whose sympathies remain with trans-border inimical forces.
Slathia said Jammu is a land of warriors, who have offered numerous sacrifices for the integrity and sovereignty of the country and it cannot welcome those hell bent on breaking the ethos of the country and undermining its glorious civilisation. He described the divisive machinations of the Congress as desperate attempt to attain some sort of relevance in the J&K politics. But the Congress is destined to fail, he added.
Soliciting support for Surjeet Singh Slathia, MLA Bikaner Rajasthan Jethanand Viyas lauded the people of Jammu for rejecting dynasties that have always remained involved in nepotism, favouritism and unethical practices for realising their vested interests.
Prominent among others present in the rallies included DDC Suresh Kumar Sharma, Mandal president Naresh Upadhayay, convenor N.D.Jamwal, Sarpanch Jasbir Singh,Tersaim Singh and Madhu Bala.
