Theft case solved

JAMMU, Sept 25: Police in Jammu’s Pacca Danga area claimed today they have solved a bike theft case.
A police official said that a written complaint was lodged by one Sunil Nagpal son of late Prakash Nath Nagpal of Upper Bazar Panjtirthi, Jammu, regarding theft of his scooty by some unknown persons.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 115/2024 under section 303(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, he said, a team constituted by SP City North, and led by SHO Pacca Danga, assisted by Incharge Police Post Chowk Chabutra rounded up a suspect identified as Arun Mehta of Ratnuchak, who confessed to his involvement in the crime during sustained questioning.
On the disclosure of the accused, the stolen scooty was recovered from his possession.
