Migration from Kishtwar

Sir,
Refer news item ‘No development forcing people to migrate from Kishtwar’ DE April 21.
The migration of people from remote region of Kishtwar in search of  jobs and basic amenities of life is a serious issue. The migration is a consequence of lack of development, and educational facilities in the region. The political classes have so far failed to promote small industrial units in the region. It  reflects  apathetic  attitude of the successive Governments towards problems of people. The people mainly rely on agriculture which is not a profitable vocation. The Government should promote horticulture in the region to provide employment opportunities to people.
The Government should also improve the standard of education in this region, so that people do not move outside their homes to provide education to their children. The people in this hilly area live in poverty and squalor.
Mere Government service is not enough to provide bread to people. The involvement of private sector is necessary. The Government should provide loans at low rates to unemployed youth to enable them to become self reliant.
