District Taekwondo C’ship begins

PULWAMA, Oct 3: The District Pulwama Taekwondo Championships 2024-25 kicked off in an exciting ceremony at Awantipora, organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Pulwama in collaboration with the Gindoo Foundation. The event is being conducted under the supervision of the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council.
Rajeev Yadav, Commanding Officer of 130 Bn CRPF was the chief guest, while Vishant, Deputy Commandant of 130 BN CRPF, was the guest of honor. Other notable guests included Er. Jehangeera Ali, Vice President of the Gindoo Foundation, and Burhan Ud Din Khan, NIS Taekwondo Coach and Executive Member of the J&K Taekwondo Association, who acted as official observers.
The championship has drawn the participation of around 150 young athletes from various schools and clubs across district Pulwama, competing in four age categories: Sub-Junior, Cadets, Junior, and Senior. The event is designed to provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talents and develop their skills in the sport of Taekwondo.
The opening ceremony was led by Shah Faisal Ali, the Organizing Secretary of the District Pulwama Taekwondo Association, with a highly qualified referee panel comprising Tajamul Gani, Faisal Qadir, Mufti Taha, Tehzeeb Jaan, and Sartaj Iqbal, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all participants.
This championship serves as a crucial opportunity to promote sportsmanship, discipline, and athletic excellence among the youth of Pulwama, further contributing to the growing sports culture in the region.
