JAMMU, Oct 4: The 36th Sub-Junior National Tenni-Koit Championship 2024 concluded at Green Field Playground Gandhi Nagar, here today. Organized by the J&K Tenni-Koit Association under the aegis of the Tenni-Koit Federation of India and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the championship witnessed participation from 21 States and Union Territories, featuring around 500 players and officials. The event included matches in boys and girls categories, showcasing exceptional talent from across the nation.
Devansh Yadav, Commissioner JMC Jammu was the chief guest on the closing ceremony while guest of honour was Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma, who distributed prizes to the medal winners.
In the Boys Singles category, the Gold medal was awarded to Utkarsh Dilip Punewar from Maharashtra, while Naitik Liladhar Warma, also from Maharashtra, secured Silver. The Bronze went to P. Bala Darshan from Tamil Nadu, and Adyand T from Kerala claimed the 4th position. In the Girls Singles, P. Poornima from Tamil Nadu took Gold, followed by S. Vinsi, also from Tamil Nadu, who won Silver. The Bronze medal was earned by Sinchana G from Karnataka, and Tanuja from Karnataka finished in 4th place.
In Boys Doubles, the Gold medalists were Siripurapu Sai Kumar and Neeli Gowtham Sanjay from Andhra Pradesh. The Silver went to S. Sakthivel and T. Abhishek from Tamil Nadu, while Asif AJ and Sharan Krishna T from Kerala took Bronze. Basit Nabi and Owais Bilal Wani from J&K finished in 4th place. The Girls Doubles Gold was awarded to Pavishka and Divya Sri. B from Pondicherry, with Silver going to Dibyajoti Pal and Priyadarshini Behara from Odisha. The Bronze was claimed by R. Rithika and A. Asmita from Tamil Nadu, and Ishika Umesh Mishra and Ankita Ishwar Bombate from Maharashtra took 4th place.
In Mixed Doubles, Goalla Mahidhar and Killuri Indu from Andhra Pradesh won Gold, with Silver awarded to D. Gokul and A. Rituparna from Pondicherry. Krushna Pravin Chilewar and Aashta Sanjya Mishra from Maharashtra secured Bronze, while S. Anbuselvan and R. Sudar from Tamil Nadu finished in 4th place. Tamil Nadu emerged as the overall champion with 22 points, followed by Pondicherry with 13 points and Andhra Pradesh with 12 points.
