POONCH, Oct 4: The Inter-District UT Level Hockey tournament for Girls in the Under-14 and Under-19 categories was inaugurated at the Synthetic Hockey Ground, here today. In the event SP Sachin Gupta was also present as chief guest.
The tournament features three teams competing in the U-14 category and four teams in the U-19 category, with matches scheduled over two days. In the opening match of the U19 category, Jammu showcased an impressive performance, defeating Baramulla with a commanding score of 9-0. Supriya scored four goals, while Anjali netted three and Komal and Kiran added one goal each to the tally.
In the U-14 category, Pulwama secured a 2-0 victory against Jammu, with Khansa Sajad and Toiba Javed scoring one goal each. The chief guest encouraged the young athletes to exhibit enthusiasm and true sportsmanship. The event was attended by various dignitaries and officials, ensuring a successful kickoff for the tournament. Matches were officiated by qualified referees for fair competition.
