JAMMU, Oct 5: The Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association, under the leadership of General Secretary Kuldeep Kumar Gupta and President Anil Gupta, has introduced an initiative to personally distribute “Grant Cheques” to district Kabaddi association leaders. This funding will facilitate the organization of District Kabaddi Championships in three categories: Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior, for both girls and boys, in line with the 2024-25 domestic calendar recently issued by the Association in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
At the distribution ceremony, attended by key officials including Technical Director Surinder Mohan, cheques of Rs. 15,000 were handed out to representatives from various districts, including Jammu, Udhampur, Samba and more.
Furthermore, the Association announced that Srinagar will host the Sub-Junior Championship, Udhampur will oversee the Junior Championship, and Poonch will manage the Senior Championship, all organized in conjunction with the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council. Anil Gupta highlighted Kabaddi’s growing popularity in rural areas and stressed the importance of player registration for participation in upcoming National Championships.
