POONCH, Oct 5: The Inter-District UT Level Hockey Tournament for Girls Under-14 and Under-19 culminated today at the Synthetic Hockey Astro Turf, BHSS Poonch, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K.
In the Under-14 final, District Poonch claimed the title by defeating Pulwama 4-0, with Kanisha Puri scoring two goals, while Japneet and Seerat added one goal each. In the Under-19 category, Jammu triumphed over Poonch with a 4-0 victory, featuring two goals from Anjali and one each from Komal and Janvi.
Inspector Mukhtiar Ahmed (SHO) Surankote, was the chief guest, He emphasized the importance of sports in youth development. The tournament concluded with a trophy and certificate distribution ceremony to honour the winners’ achievements. Matches were officiated by a technical panel of experienced referees.
