Manya’s effort goes in vain as Uttarakhand registers 20-run victory over J&K

JAMMU, Oct 6: Riding on a brilliant batting display by skipper Shagun, coupled with splendid bowling show by Sakshi and Kareena, Uttarakhand got the better better of Jammu and Kashmir in a close contest by a narrow margin of 20 runs as Manya Banotra’s all-round show went vain in the ongoing Women’s U-19 T20 Trophy at Sanosara Cricket Ground-A Rajkot today.
Uttarakhand scored 130 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Skipper Shagun top scored with 57 runs off 43 balls with 11 boundaries, while Ananya and Kareena contributed 17 and 15 runs to the total respectively.
For J&K, Manya Banotra took 2 wickets, while Ananya Dogra, Mahika Singh Rana, Ridhima Rajput and Sania Slathia claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K managed to score 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 7 wickets to lose the match by a narrow margin of 20 runs.
Manya Banotra top scored with 38 runs off 39 balls, studded with 6 boundaries, while Bhagya Lakshmi Jamwal contributed 22 runs off 43 balls with 2 fours. Mahika Singh Rana and Shruti Thakur contributed 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively.
Sakshi took 3 wickets, while Kareena bagged 2 wickets for Uttrakhand. Vaishali and Kalpana Verma claimed one wicket each.
