Football, badminton contingents flagged off

JAMMU, Apr 24: To participate in the 59th National School Games, the State contingents in the disciplines of football Under-19 boys and badminton Under-14, 17 and Under-19 boys was flagged off by Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, here today.
The football Championship is being held at Pune in Maharashtra, while badminton Championship is being organized at Agra in UP from April 26 to April 30, 2014. The contingents comprised of 32 players and 5 officials. The Director General, Youth Services and Sports Navin Agarwal (IPS) while interacting with the players and officials, said that sports and games are essential for growth and development of an individual, besides character building.
He hoped that the players will play to their potential and bring laurels to the State.
