LUCKNOW, Apr 25: Claiming good party peformance in the polls, BJP president Rajnath Singh today claimed that his party will remain victorious in around 300 seats during the ongoing parliamentary elections.
“The BJP will win no less than 300 Lok Sabha seats as people are fed-up of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party and looking towards our party with hopefull eyes,” Mr Singh, who is contesting from the prestigious Lucknow Lok
Sabha seat, told here.
The huge crowd which gathered during the nomination of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Varanasi yesterday hints towards his growing popularity and favourable-BJP atmosphere, the BJP supremo claimed further. It also shows the peoples’ trust in the BJP, he quipped.
“Congressmen are fearing their defeat and poor performance in the hunstings, hence diverting from public-related issues,” he stated.
Replying to a question, Mr Singh said his party will ensure development of all the religious and historical places without any discrimination. ” The religious places cannot be ignored at any cost and an action plan would be prepared soon, if the BJP-led NDA government comes to regime at the Centre,” he remarked.
Rebuffing any intervention in the working of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, Mr Singh said, “all these allegations hold no truth.”
“I myself had remained a Swayam Sewak of the RSS and I am very well aware of their working and ideology,” he clarified. The BJP president further chided the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for their hollow policies that has hit the image of the country. He claimed that the nation will progress in terms of development, if the BJP government comes to rule at the Centre. The fame of BJP was spreading in states like Tamil Nadu, Assam and Andhra Pradesh, Mr Singh stated. The Lucknow Lok Sabha seat is going to polls in the fourth phase on April 30.
