CCI takes up VAT returns issue with CT authorities

JAMMU, Apr 26: Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation met the  Additional Commissioner  Commercial Taxes, in his office chamber  today and brought to his notice the problems being faced by the assesses in filing the VAT returns electronically.
Y V Sharma, Chamber president was leading the delegation while heads of various trade associations  and prominent businessmen accompanied. They apprised the Addl Commissioner about the difficulties which they are facing due to late uploading of templates and changes  in the templates on regular basis. The main problem which the business community is facing  while e-filing  of returns is that there is no format  installed for the purchases  against Form-F. The purchases from Union Territory can not be uploaded till this date.
They demanded that single page trader friendly returns should be accepted and the traders should be given at least 60 days time for submitting remaining returns.  The Addl Commissioner assured the delegation to take up the matter wth higher authorities.
Chamber members and traders Sham Lal Langar, Arun Gupta, Deepak Aggarwal, Parveen Gupta, Rattan Lal Gupta, Ram Langar, Naveen Gupta and Om Gupta also accompanied.
