JAMMU, Oct 13: The Jammu District Table Tennis Championships 2024 concluded with thrilling matches and outstanding performances from young athletes. In the Under 11 category, Alena Arora and Saiyam Nischal emerged as champions, showcasing their talent and determination.
Saiyam displayed remarkable dominance throughout the tournament, easily advancing to the finals and defeating Aarav Gandotra with a convincing score of 3-0. In a nail-biting final, Alena triumphed over Syrah Dewan with a close 3-2 victory, highlighting her resilience and skill.
In the Under 13 semi-finals, Myrah Dewan secured her place in the final by defeating Alena 3-0, while Syrah edged past Srishti 3-1. The Under 15 boys’ event featured top seeds Ritvik Gupta and Saiyam Nischal, both of whom cruised into the finals without losing a single game.
In the Under 13 Boys semi-finals, Samarth defeated Eeshan 3-1, while Saiyam overcame Aahaan 3-1. In the Under 17 Girls semi-finals, Myrah bested Gunjan 3-0, and Mishti triumphed over Chitrani 3-0.
The Under 17 Boys quarter-finals saw Hunny beating Samardev 3-1, Saiyam defeating Satyam 3-0, Samarth taking down Arnav 3-0, and Ritvik overcoming Gourav 3-0.
In the men’s category, Maanay won against Aarav 3-0, Satyam Nischal narrowly edged Satyam Gupta 3-2, Samarth beat Rudraksh 3-0, Nitin triumphed over Abhijeet 3-0, and Samardev defeated Shivansh 3-2.
The tournament, officiated by Meenu Rajesh, showcased the growing talent in Jammu and provided an excellent platform for young players to shine and compete at a higher level.
