J&K International Film Festival set to take place from Nov 20-23

JAMMU, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir International Film Festival is set to take place across Jammu and Srinagar from November 20 to 23.
This was disclosed in a press conference organized today by Vomedh, the organizer of this prestigious Festival. This highly anticipated festival is shaping up to be the biggest celebration of cinema in the region, with a truly international lineup of films.
Vomedh, a non-profit organization founded by cultural activists and brothers, Rakesh Roshan Bhat and Rohit Bhat, has successfully organized three editions of JFF and two editions of TIFFS in the past.
Addressing the press conference, Rohit Bhat (Festival Director) said after receiving an overwhelming 400 film entries from 50 countries, a highly esteemed jury has selected 78 films from 29 countries for screening. The breakdown of selections include 59 Short Films, 14 Documentaries and 5 Feature Films. Bhat said this edition of the festival is dedicated to late Mushtaq Kak, a renowned theatre director, actor and long-time jury member of both JFF and TIFFS.
He said the festival will commence with a grand opening in Jammu on 20th November with screenings across both cities: Jammu Screenings: 20 & 22nd November; Srinagar Screenings & Grand Finale: 22nd and 23rd November at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. The festival will culminate with a closing ceremony on 23rd November, celebrating the best of global and regional cinema.
The press conference was graced by several notable figures including Deepak Koul (Manager of Legends League), Chad Siddique (Actor & Director), Gulfam Barji, Zafer Dar and Aijaz Ahmad (all eminent theatre, cinema and social figures), Bharti Kaul (vice president, Vomedh), Rakesh Roshan Bhat (mentor of Vomedh), Sanjay Saraf (advisor of the Festival) and Manzoor Ahmad Mir (renowned director).
