JAMMU, Oct 14: The All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has expressed its strong resentment over the two notifications issued by the LG Administration regarding police powers and restrictions on new recruitment.
In a meeting chaired by Mohd Lateef Qureshi, the Union unanimously denounced these notifications as being against the interests of the general public.
AIBCU alleged that the BJP’s rule over the past decade has severely impacted Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the education sector and employment opportunities for qualified youth. “The Union believes that Central Government control over the Police will only perpetuate malpractices, such as those associated with the sand and Bajri mafia,” Qureshi.
Prof Kali Dass, General Secretary, AIBCU said that if the newly elected Government is stripped of its powers, what’s the point of holding elections in a democratic setup?
The AIBCU demands that the Lieutenant Governor should withdraw these notifications, which are deemed anti-public acts, and instead work towards the welfare of the people.
