JAMMU, Oct 15: In the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournaments 2024-25 at the University of Jammu, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, witnessed thrilling competition across multiple sports including Basketball, Table Tennis, Kabaddi and Volleyball. Numerous colleges participated, showcasing their athletic prowess.
In a tightly contested Basketball tournament, GDC Kunjwani beat ASCOMS by 3 points, while BDC Udhampur secured a 13-point victory over GDC Doda. GDC Kathua narrowly defeated GDC Udhampur by 2 points. On the women’s side, GCW Parade triumphed over MIET with 23-points and PG Department overcame GDC Khilotran by 8 points.
In the Table Tennis matches, PG Department won against GDC Mendhar by 3-1, GDC Udhampur outplayed GDC Mahanpur by 3-0, GCET Jammu defeated GDC Ramban by 3-1, and MIET Jammu beat GDC Hiranagar by 3-1. In the women’s section, PG Department swept GCW Parade by 3-0, and GDC Ramnagar outclassed GMC Kathua by 3-0.
The Kabaddi tournament saw intense battles, with PG Department defeating GDC Mahanpur by 20 points, GDC Basohli beating GDC Marheen by 15 points, MIET securing a 22-point victory over GDC Rajouri, and GDC Akhnoor edging out TDC Nowshera by 11 points. GDC Kathua triumphed over IMP Patoli by 21 points, GDC Samba overcame GNC Kishtwar by 17 points, GDC RS Pura won against GDC Khour by 13 points, GDC Kunjwani beat GCET by 18 points, GDC Hiranagar triumphed over KC Law College by 17 points, GDC Reasi won against GDC Ramgarh by 14 points, and GDC Bhaderwah secured a 09-point win over GDC Doda.
In Volleyball, UIET Kathua Campus beat GDC Ramgarh 2-0 (25-17, 25-10), GDC Hiranagar defeated GNC Doda 2-0 (25-06, 25-09), GDC Doda triumphed over GMC Kathua 2-0 (25-15, 25-21), and B.Sc Nursing College overcame Dogra Degree College by 2-1 (15-25, 25-19, 15-04). GDC Udhampur beat Akhnoor 2-0 (25-11, 25-13), GDC Khour defeated GDC Thannamandi 2-0 (25-04, 25-10), KC Law College won against Prabha Harji College 2-1 (20-25, 25-17, 15-13), GDC Poonch beat GDC Kathua by 2-1 (17-25, 25-23, 15-12), GDC Nowshera overcame GMC Doda 2-0 (25-13, 25-18), GDC Samba defeated GNC Kishtwar by 2-0 (25-10, 25-12), and GDC Bishnah won against Dogra Law College by 2-1 (19-25, 25-16, 16-14). GDC Mahanpur secured a victory against Dogra Degree College in the women’s section, winning by 2-0 (25-07, 25-09).
