Renowned surgeons deliver lectures during Vascular CME

JAMMU, Apr 27: JK Medicity–Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu organized a CME / Live workshop on Vascular Surgery, today.
Renowned vascular surgeons who performed the advanced vascular operations and delivered lectures on various aspects of vascular diseases included Dr V S Bedi, HoD & Dr Ajay Yadav, senior Consultant Vascular Surgery Department Sir Gangaram Hospital Delhi, Dr H S Bedi, HoD, CTVS CMC Ludhiana and Dr Ravul Jindal, HoD Vascular Surgery, Fortis Hospital Mohali.
They demonstrated the advanced techniques of Foam Sclerotherapy, endo-venous Laser and Radio frequency ablation of Varicose Veins a very common vascular problem which was being treated by conventional open surgery so far. Newer techniques are minimally invasive requiring no hospitalization and no anesthesia.
In addition a session on color Doppler assessment of varicose veins was also conducted by the experts. According to Dr Gurjit Singh, Head CTVS, JK Medicity Hospital who organized this academic meet told that the workshops were highly informative and were attended by about 50 young surgeons and sonologists including PG students of Surgery & Radiology departments of GMC Jammu who had good inter-action with the faculty.
The proceedings of CME were conducted by Dr Arvind Kohli.  The invited faculty delivered lectures on Peripheral Arterial Diseases and the current management of venous disorders. Academic session was chaired by Dr Vijay Gupta and  Dr H L Goswamy, both former Principals of GMC Jammu. CME was attended by a large number of doctors both from Health & Medical Education Department and from the private sector. The function came to an end with Dr. Gaganpreet Singh MD JK Medicity presenting a vote of thanks.
