JAMMU, Apr 28: District Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of hockey, football, handball, speedball and handball Under-14 and Under-17 boys got underway at various venues, here today.
Over 700 students drawn from various institutions of Jammu district are taking part in this event, which is being held under the patronage of Navin Agarwal and under the overall supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
At KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, in hockey Under-17 boys, SOS Gole Gujral defeated APS Jammu Cantt by (3-0), while APS Miran Sahib got better of Government HSS Gole Gujral by (2-0), while in hockey Under-14 boys, SOS Gole Gujral prevailed over APS Miran Sahib by (2-0).
At GGM Science College Football ground, in football Under-17 boys, MHAC Nagbani defeated MIER (4-0), KB Public School outplayed JP World (2-0) and Ashoka HSS Karan Nagar trounced GD Goenka by a solitary goal, while in football Under-14 boys, APS Nagrota outclassed APS Miran Sahib by (2-0) and DPS got better of KC Public School in a close contest via tie-breaker by (5-4).
The matches were officiated by Bharat Bhushan, Kuchey Kumar, Rohit Gupta, Amolak, Harjot Kour and Vajinderpal Kour.
At District Police Lines Jammu, in handball Under-17 boys, St Peters outplayed APS Miran Sahib by (6-1), BSF Paloura blanked Dogra HSS by (5-0), Heritage got better of Oriental Academy by (3-2) and APS Domana prevailed over Rainbow Public School by (4-3), while in handball Under-14 boys, Heritage School beat Rainbow Public School by (4-2), APS Domana thrashed APS Miran Sahib by (9-0).
The matches were officiated by Ajay, Gourav Chander Shaker, Mokshi and Arti Thakur.
