JAMMU, Apr 28: Jammu Gymkhana defeated ICC Simbal Camp by 16 runs in the ongoing Summer Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Rommy Sports and sponsored by Simula and Chenab Gas at KC Sports Club ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu Gymkhana scored a decent total of 150 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Rocky top scored with 50 runs, while Jagandeep Singh and Nipun Verma contributed 20 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For ICC Simbal, Gagandeep Singh scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 24 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, ICC Simbal Camp scored 134 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 16 runs. Prince played a magnificent innings of 62 runs off 41 balls, while Navdeep contributed 22 runs to the total. For Gymkhana, Akash Choudhary was pick of the bowlers, who bagged 3 wickets by giving away 22 runs in his 4 overs, while skipper Sandeep Singh claimed 2 wickets by conceding 28 runs in his 4 overs. Rocky was adjudged man of the match for superb half-century.
