Punjab’s Sumit clinches 52nd Tote Kesari Dangal title

REASI, Oct 19: Wrestler Sumit from Khanna, Punjab, claimed the title at the 52nd annual Tote (Bhomag) Dangal, defeating Surjit Singh of J&K Police in a thrilling 21-minute main bout held at Village Tote, near the Forest Guest House in tehsil Bhomag, Reasi district. Sumit was awarded Rs 12,000 along with a traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta, while Surjit received Rs 10,000.
The event, organized by the Shree Bheem Devta Dangal Committee Tote in collaboration with the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, saw MLA Baldev Raj Sharma as the chief guest, presenting cash prizes to the winners. A total of 73 bouts were conducted, distributing Rs 2,68,000 in cash prizes among participants.
In other matches, Anil of Reasi won the second main bout, defeating Sonu of Khanna, earning Rs 8,000, while Madan Singh of Roun Domail Akhara claimed victory in the third bout against Ankush of Delhi. Prominent figures, including DDC chairman Saraf Singh Nag and social activist Hossiar Singh, attended the event. The organizing committee was praised for their efforts in promoting physical fitness through wrestling.
