DODA, Oct 20: Two persons lost their lives while three others suffered injuries in a road accident here today in wee hours on Dharmoti Batara road in Gandoh area.

The ill fated vehicle was a Load Carrier of Tata Mobile make bearing registration number JK06B-4629 which skidded off the road and landed in a deep gorge leaving two persons onboard dead and three others injured of which two were critical till last reports.
Immediately after the accident locals along with cops rushed to the spot and started rescue operation and shifted the injured persons to the hospital where two of them were declared dead on arrival.

The deceased persons were identified as Sayam, son of Shair Mohd, resident of Shingni and Shakeel Ahmed, son of Mohd Sain, resident of Juloo.
The injured were identified as Mohd Arif, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of, Shingni; Shabir Ahmed, son of Shair Mohd, resident of Shingni and Mahesh Kumar, resident of Julo.
Being critical, Shabir Ahmed was referred to GMC Jammu and Mahesh Kumar to GMC Doda.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
Meanwhile, MoS PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh has expressed shock over the loss of lives in accident.
On social media platform X (former Twitter), he posted: “Spoke to DC Doda, Harvinder Singh, after learning about the tragic road accident of a private vehicle in Gandoh area. My condolences to the bereaved families of the two diseased. Of the three injured, one critical shifted to GMC #Jammu while the other two being treated at Doda. All possible assistance will be provided as per the requirement.”
