Udhampur, Oct 25: The two-day Kabaddi Championship, organized by the District Kabaddi Association culminated at the Indoor Sports Complex, Subhash Stadium, Udhampur here today.
The event was graced by Amod Ashok Nagpure, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur, who presided over the closing ceremony. Notable guests included Sandeep Bhat, Additional SP, and Ashok Kumar Salhotra, former Director of Sports SMVD Shrine Board.
Nagpure praised the young athletes for their talent and sportsmanship, emphasizing the crucial role of sports in diverting youth from drugs and promoting healthy lifestyles. He commended the efforts of the J&K Kabaddi Association and the local association for organizing a well-structured championship.
In the final matches, Garhi Club triumphed over UKC in the Junior Boys’ category with a score of 39-17, while UKC defeated KV No-1 in the Sub-Junior Boys’ category, winning 48-36. In the Junior Girls’ category, UKC emerged victorious against Chiryai Club, 27-10. Lastly, KV No-2 edged out UKC in the Sub-Junior Girls’ category, winning 29-28.
