JAMMU, Oct 25: Kartik Sharma from Gurugram shot an impressive five-under 67, taking a three-shot lead at 10-under 206 on day three of the J&K Open 2024, presented by J&K Tourism, at the Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC). The 24-year-old left-hander, seeking his first professional win, climbed four spots after starting the day tied for fifth.
Sharma’s strong round included birdies on the second and fifth holes with long putts and precise wedge shots set up additional birdies on the sixth, eighth, and 18th holes. Reflecting on his round, Sharma shared, “I executed my strategy well, stayed focused, and made some consistent putts. This bogey-free round gives me confidence for the final day.”
Delhi’s Sachin Baisoya and Shaurya Bhattacharya, who led overnight, are tied for second at seven-under 209. Bengaluru’s C Muniyappa holds fourth at six-under 210, followed by Udayan Mane from Pune, Amardeep Malik from Noida and Arjun Prasad from Delhi, who are tied for fifth at five-under 211.
Kolkata’s Divyanshu Bajaj Jethmalani shot the tournament’s lowest round, an eight-under 64, featuring six consecutive birdies, moving him up 39 spots to tied 11th at three-under 213.
