JAMMU, Apr 30: Department of English lifted the title trophy in women’s table tennis event of ongoing Jammu University’s Inter-Department Tournament, being organized by the University, under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
Mathematics Department lifted the Inter-Department Trophy in Carom.
Earlier, in table tennis women, English Department beat Mathematics Department by (2-1), with Meetu beating Nitika by (11-3,9-11,11-9) and Nitani trouncing Eva Gupta by (11-2,11-1), while English Department defeated The Law School easily, with Nitani drubbing Harneet by (11-1,11-2) and Meetu outplaying Bhuvansahwani by (11-4,11-5).
In table tennis men, The Law School beat M C A Department by (3-0), with Abhinav beat Nasir by (11-2,11-2), Anurag beat Venkateshwar by (11-3,11-4) and Karam beat Bhanu Partap by (11-6,11-8)
The Law School beat SHTM by (3-0). Abhinav beat Shubam by (11-4,11-0), Anurag beat Mohit by (11-6,11-7) and Karam beat Kamal by (11-3,11-4)
In Carom women’s final, Mathematics Department got better of The Law School, with Sameesksha outclassing Nitu Devi (Mathematics Deptt), Heena Mathematics Deptt beating Manvika (The Law School) and Nitu and Heena (Mathematics Deptt.) drubbing Sameesksha and Bandhu (The Law School).
The matches were officiated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid , Gagan Kumar, Vikas Karlopia.
Prominent among others present at the venue were P D Singh, Jai Bharat and Nisha Sharma.
The tournament is organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu.
