APMCC to hold protest rally at Srinagar

JAMMU, Apr 30: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) today gave call for Srinagar march in protest against the failure of the State Government to accept its six point charter of demands.
The call was given by the APMCC chief Vinod Pandita at a press conference here today along with his party general secretary, Arun Kandroo and others. He said the State Government totally betrayed the APMCC after backtracking from its promises made with its leadership by then Minister of Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib when the activists of organization resorted to fast unto death in 2011 for resolution of six point charter of demands.
He said later again the State Government came with assurances and promises when the activists of the organization led by him resorted to hunger strike at Porbandar, Gujarat for 15 days. At that time J&K Government made an appeal to Gujarat Government to pursue APMCC leaders to break the fast and a written assurance was given to Gujarat Government on which the APMCC broke its fast.
Giving details Arun Kandroo, general secretary, APMCC said that his organisation has decided to hold a peaceful rally at Srinagar from Press Colony to Lal Chowk on June 4 in support of its six point charter of demands for which the organization is struggling for a decade.
The six point charter of demands included passage of Kashmiri Hindu Temples and Shrines Bill, probe into the multi crore temple/shrine land encroachments in Kashmir, facilitating visit to Mata Sharda Peeth Temple in PoK, establishment of Mata Sharda University in J&K, one time compensation for over aged migrant KP youth and special employment package for non migrant Hindus of Kashmir Valley.
