JAMMU, Oct 27: Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, inaugurated the 51st JKUT Badminton Championship at MA Stadium, here today. The prestigious event is being organized by the Sports Council, bringing together 300 talented players from across the region to compete and showcase their skills.
Arvind Gupta emphasized the importance of sports and physical activities in shaping a healthy and progressive society. “Sports and youth are vital to our society, fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Events like these not only provide a platform for athletes to excel but also inspire others to pursue their passions with dedication. Let’s encourage our children to play, excel and shape a brighter future,” he remarked.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the participation of prominent sports personalities, coaches and sports enthusiasts. The event aims to promote the spirit of competition and camaraderie among the youth, encouraging them to engage in sports actively and pursue excellence.
The championship will feature various categories, with players from different age groups battling for the coveted titles. Prominent among those present during the inauguration were Dr. OD Sharma, Chairman BAJK, DV Sharma (Vice Chairman BAJK) and Balbir Jamwal (General Secretary BAJK).
