UDHAMPUR, Oct 31: An eight-year old girl was crushed to death by a rashly driven truck on Dhar Road at Balpur in Majalta while a motorcyclist died and pillion rider got seriously injured when their bike was hit by a goods carrier.
Reports said that 8-year old Pryi, daughter of Mohd Saleem, resident of Nakki Balpur, tehsil Majalta, district Udhampur was walking on the roadside when a truck bearing registration number PB65AH-1673 and on way from Ramkot towards Battal side, ran over her, this morning around 1015 hours.
The minor girl reportedly died on the spot while driver of the truck fled away after the accident. A case FIR number 107/2024, under section 281,106(1)/BNS has been registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist died after his bike was hit by a goods carrier at Bidda Morh in Reasi. The collision took place when the goods carrier vehicle, bearing registration number JK20C 2462, hit motorcycle (JK20B 7334), resulting into the death of motorcyclist Davinder Sharma, 32, son of Amarnath, resident of Gosal Kanthan, Reasi district and serious injuries to pillion rider Rashpal Sharma, 26, son of Shamu Nath, resident of Ward number , Kanthan, Reasi district.
Rashpal was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment.
