SHOPIAN, Nov 3: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, today conducted an extensive visit of different areas of Shopian to take first hand appraisal of ongoing Water Supply Schemes (WSS) & filtration plants under execution under Jal Jeevan Mission and other schemes of Jal Shakti Department.
On the occasion, DC assessed various WSS which includes, Reshnagri Tengpora Ramnagri, Adijan Gadipora, Dangam Ratnipora, Wangipora 1st Muradpora Chakoo, Manzimpora, Herman Old, Rampathri A, Transit accommodation, Batamurran Wanpora, Mughalpora Panjra and Shadab Karewa.
DC evaluated scheme progress and emphasized for maintaining quality and timely completion of works to ensure drinking water facilities to the people in the specified quantity, envisaged under the Mission.
During his visit, Shahid Saleem highlighted the objectives of JJM and emphasised upon concerned to ensure the delivery of desired outcomes of JJM by speeding up the works and providing the water in ample quantity and desirable quality.
These inspections also focused on identifying bottlenecks and their timely removal for expediting the ongoing construction work of Water Supply Schemes.
DC also interacted with workers and enquired of provision of welfare measures for them, including coverage of workers under Social Security Schemes and Insurance schemes.
He instructed for securing work sites through CCTV installation and other security measures.
Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Ab Rashid Wani on the occasion apprised the DC about the status of ongoing works including pipe networks, Rapid sand filtration plants, Overhead tanks and borewells.
ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz and other officers and officials of Jal Shakti accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
