JKBOSE, JKACS hold Divisional Level Competition

JAMMU, Nov 5: Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), in partnership with the Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society (JKACS), held the Divisional Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition at the Rehari Colony, Jammu, and Bemina, Srinagar campuses. The event attracted top-performing student teams from all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, following a series of school and district-level contests.
The journey began with school-level competitions involving 50 schools per district. The top 10 teams from each district then competed at the district level on October 14, where each district’s winning team qualified for the Divisional Level competition.
In the Jammu Division, Alpha Institute of Research and Training, Doda claimed the first position, showcasing impressive knowledge and poise. Shaheed SPO Bhushan Lal, GMS Chewar Palmal, Kishtwar secured second place, while Christ School, Poonch earned third. Nature’s Lap International School, Pouni, Reasi received a consolation prize for its commendable performance.
In the Kashmir Division, the first position went to GHS Shanipura, Budgam. BHSS Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar earned second place, and BHSS Tral secured third, with PM Shri HSS Ramnagri, Shopian receiving a consolation prize.
The event was graced by Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Chairman of JKBOSE, as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of adaptability and inclusivity in the pursuit of knowledge, highlighting resilience and growth as key aspects of success. Sudershan Kumar, Secretary JKBOSE, also addressed the participants, encouraging them to focus on learning and participation.
The presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Singh, Director Academics at JKBOSE, who serves as the UT Project Director, added to the event’s prestige. He praised the enthusiastic participants and emphasized that the competition successfully achieved its dual goals of promoting a positive competitive spirit and raising health awareness.
In Srinagar, Dr. Rumissa Shawi, Assistant Director, presided over the session, commending the participants and applauding the competition’s smooth execution. Quiz masters Sugandh and Gulzar Ahmed Dar led the sessions.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Deputy Director Academics, who outlined the quiz’s objectives. The vote of thanks was delivered by Chander Kumar, Academic Officer. Among the distinguished attendees were Madan Lal, Financial Advisor, JKACS, Risheesh Khajuria, Assistant Director (IEC), and Rajesh Sharma, Assistant Director of Youth Affairs, along with several senior academic and health education officials from both organizations.
