Srinagar, May 4: Security forces today recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Bandipora forests of North Kashmir.
Srinagar based defence spokesman, Lt Col N N Joshi told Excelsior that Army and police today on a specific intelligence input of presence of a cache of arms in forest area of Gubrinala, Erin Bowl of district Bandipora, conducted a search operation.
“During the search a cache of arms and ammunition which included 8 Chinese pistols, 8 magazines and 32 pistol rounds were recovered”, said Joshi.
Sources said that these pistols were wrapped in polythene and were placed in gunny bag. Security forces questions some civilians of the area but no one was arrested.
