Saiyam, Syrah, Myrah shine at 47th J&K UT Table Tennis C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 11: The 47th J&K UT Table Tennis Championships 2024 delivered intense action and fierce competition across age categories, with standout performances by several young athletes.
In the Under-11 Boys’ final, Saiyam Nischal triumphed over Aarav Gandotra with a 3-1 victory, while Syrah Dewan claimed the Under-11 Girls’ title, defeating Alena Arora by 3-1. The Under-13 Girls’ final saw an exciting contest between sisters Myrah and Syrah Dewan. Myrah emerged victorious in a closely contested match, winning by 3-2.
Saiyam Nischal continued his dominance by claiming the Under-13 Boys’ title with a 3-1 victory over Advik Garg. Ritvik Gupta, the standout player of the tournament, reached the finals in all four categories.
In the Under-15 Boys’ semi-finals, Ritvik defeated Ahaan Anand by 3-0, while Adnan beat Saiyam by 3-1. In the Under-15 Girls’ semi-finals, Myrah won against Gunjan by 3-2, and Nitya defeated Arushika by 3-0.
In the Under-17 Boys’ semi-finals, Ritvik bested Samarth by 3-1, while Hunny defeated Saiyam by 3-1. In the Under-17 Girls’ semi-finals, Nitya beat Myrah by 3-2, and Mishti won against Arushika by 3-1. Matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh, Meenu Rajesh, and Ankit Sharma.
