JAMMU, Nov 12: The 5th edition of the MMM Jammu Duathlon 70.3 is set to take place on November 17 at Mehtab Palace, Miran Sahib, Jammu, starting at 4:00 am. This premier multisport event, combining cycling and running, will bring together over 200 athletes from across India, challenging them to push their physical and mental limits while aiming for personal bests.
Since its launch in 2020, the Jammu Duathlon 70.3 has grown into a landmark event on the regional sports calendar. It is organized by the Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation, which has worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success.
To kick off the event, a Bib Expo will be held on November 16 from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm where registered athletes can collect their race kits and jerseys, while a special session featuring ultra-runner Ambica Chauhan and members of the Iron Tribe Community will offer insights and inspiration to all participants.
The event feature several categories: the Sprint Duathlon (1.5 km run, 20 km cycle, 3 km run) for ages 12-18; the Olympic Duathlon (1.5 km run, 40 km cycle, 10 km run) for ages 16+; the Duathlon 70.3 (1.9 km run, 90 km cycle, 21 km run) for ages 18+; and Relay Duathlons for teams of two, including the Olympic Relay and Duathlon 70.3 Relay, both for ages 16+ with cutoff times of 4:30 and 8:30 hours.
The event will be graced by Brigadier Harcharan Singh (Retd.), Director North of WWF, who will serve as the chief guest. Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the athletes, contributing to the exciting, motivating atmosphere.
