JKP wrestler Roshan lifts title

KATRA, May 5: Wrestler Roshan Lal of Jammu and Kashmir Police lifted ‘27th Annual Dansal Kesari 2014’ title by defeating wrestler Farooq of Sarore in a neck to neck fight that lasted for 23 minutes at Dansal, today.
The event was held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Payara Lal Sharma, president of Dansal Dangal Committee and Sarpanch Balwan Singh.
Dangal was organized by Dansal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Principal, Convent School Dansal, Bijo Mathew of Kerala was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winners and runners-up wrestlers. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function, while Sarpanchs Angrej Singh and Mohd Sadiq were the guests of honour.
CID Inspector Kewal Krishan, President Chak Morh Dangal Committee Satish Kumar, Sarpanch Balwan Singh and Naib Sarpanch Sudesh Kumar were present on the occasion.
Chief guest Bijo Mathew and Mr Sharma gave Rs 4,000 as cash prize alongwith ‘Mata Ki Chunni’ to the winner of 1st malli bout, Roshan Lal while cash prize of Rs 3,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Farooq by Payara Lal Sharma and Balwan Singh.
In all 45 bouts were played in the day-long dangal.
