JAMMU, May 5: The cultural troupe of SKUAST Jammu brought laurels by winning the runners-up trophy in 19th All India Inter-University Youth (AIIUY) Festival “Reverie Renaissance 2014” held at National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal in Haryana.
The team bagged winner awards in folk solo, folk duet, classical solo, classical duet, classical group, western solo, western duet and hotch potch and runners-up awards in folk solo, folk group, western solo, folk solo, folk group, choreography, mime, fashion show, essay writing and story writing.
Nine Agriculture and Veterinary Universities participated in the event and the participating Universities included NDRI Karnal, IARI New Delhi, IVRI Izatnagar, SKUAST Kashmir, GADVASU Ludhiana, DUVASU Mathura, SVPUAT Modipuram, MAFU Pusa and SKUAST-J. Rizem Kour of SKUAST-J was awarded best performer of the event award namely “Dr Ashwani Sharma Memorial Award”. The awards were presented by Dr Gurbachan Singh, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board and Dr A K Srivastava, Director, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal.
