SOPORE, July 5: Iqbal Cricket Club trounced Baghe-Rehmat Cricket Club by 7 wickets to move into the second round of the ongoing 1st Sopore T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, under Civic Action Programme at Khushal Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, Baghe-Rehmat Club bundled out for a paltry total of 78 runs in 18.3 overs. For Iqbal CC, Aanir was the most successful bowler, who claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Iqbal Cricket Club chased the required target in 17.3 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Aanir played a brilliant innings of 51 runs to make the contest one-sided. For his all-round show, he was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, with two more matches to be played tomorrow, the first round of the tournament will be completed and out of a total of 64 teams participating in the tournament, 32 will move into the second round.
