Class 10th impersonation racket busted, 2 held

JAMMU, May 6: Police and officials of J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) busted an impersonation racket operating in the class 10th (private) examination in a Government school, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
As per police sources, the examination staff appointed by the BOSE became suspicious about the two candidates in the examination Centre of class 10th at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar.
When the invigilators matched them with the photographs of the original candidates, they found them to be proxy candidates who were appearing for their friends.
The impersonators have been identified as Amarjeet Bhagat, son of Rashpal Bhagat of Bhour Camp and Vishav Mahajan, son of Raghunath Mahajan of village Akal, Satwari.
Amarjeet Bhagat has appeared for his friend Deepak having roll number 111223 as a proxy candidate, while Vishav Mahajan appeared for Ravi Kumar having roll number 111259 as proxy candidate.
Accordingly the police was informed about the matter and a police team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station headed by SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh rushed to the spot and arrested both the impersonators.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station in this regard and investigation started.
