JAMMU, Nov 18: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, inaugurated 35th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship at M A Stadium, here today.
The Championship has been organized by J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India (TBCFI), from November 18 to 21.
Director General YS&S, Rajindra Singh Tara, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul along with other dignitaries were present during the inauguration ceremony. Satish Sharma appreciated the Sports Council for organizing several such sports tournaments in the region. He emphasized that sports activities are basic requirements in developing strong mind and fit physique of the youth.
The Minister highlighted the importance of teamwork in sports and said, “Sports instil in us the value of working as a team. The more we cultivate teamwork, the greater are our chances of success. Conversely, the absence of teamwork amplifies the risk of failure.”
The Championship will feature a series of competitive matches among 35 teams competing vigorously for the top spot and the honor of being crowned the champions.
