JAMMU, Nov 19: Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K successfully concluded Inter-District UT Level Competition of Gatka Martial Arts for U-17 and U-19 Boys at New Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The event was organized under the patronage of Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara and was held under the guidance of Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Jammu,
A total of 70 participants from various districts of J&K showcased their skills. The objective of this competition was to identify and select most promising talent for upcoming events and future training programs.
The event was executed by officials and technical experts from Department of Youth Services and Sports, including Hardev Singh, Harvinder Kour, Gurbachan Singh, Mayank Jain, Anit Kour, Davinder Singh, Amardeep Singh and other technical officials from the Department.
Harvinder Kour, I/C DYSSO Jammu commended the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship.
The competition concluded with distribution of medals and certificates to winners and runners-up.
In Gatka Fari Soti Team Event (U-19 Boys), Kathua District stood first, Samba District, 2nd while Jammu and Srinagar Districts stood 3rd.
In Gatka Fari Soti Individual (U-19 Boys), Kathua District stood first, Samba, second while Budgam and Anantnag stood third.
In Gatka Single Soti Team Event (U-19 Boys), Jammu District stood first, Pulwama, second while Samba and Budgam stood third.
In Gatka Single Soti Individual (U-19 Boys), Samba District stood first, Kathua, second while Jammu and Budgam Districts stood third.
