JAMMU, May 7: Stylish opening batsman, Sidharth Magotra scored magnificent 71 runs off 56 balls, studded with 7 delectable boundaries to help Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) beat equally balanced Principal Accountant General (PAG) XI by 34 runs to enter the semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Jammu Tawi T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at M A Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, JCC scored a fighting total of 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sidharth top scored with 71 runs, while Sandeep Singh and Deepak Dogra contributed 16 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For PAG XI, Bandeep Singh took 2 wickets, while Rahil Singh and Vimarsh Kaw claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, PAG XI bundled out for 110 runs in 19.2 overs, thus lost the match by 34 runs. Amit Billowria top scored with 30 runs off 25 balls including 3 fours, while Jatin Wadhawan, Harteek Roshan and Vimarsh Kaw contributed 16, 15 and 10 runs respectively. For JCC, Paras Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who captured 3 wickets by conceding 14 runs in his 4 overs, while Jatinder Singh also bagged 3 important wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 17 runs. Deepak Dogra and Shubam claimed one wicket each.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Suhail Yousuf, Sandeep Manchanda, Rajinder Singh and Bunty Kumar.
The Tournament is being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club, under the supervision of organizing committee comprising of chairman, Raja Vivek; president, Sanjeev Sharma; vice president Neeraj Gupta and general secretary, Shashi Paul, the organizing secretary of the Tournament.
The winner of the Tournament will get a cash award of Rs 51,000 sponsored by Saraswati Agro Chemical Pvt Ltd, India.
